Dimensions
Nominal sizes are names, not measurements: the parts are made to metric heights. Measured heights are 3.875 in at 4 inch, 5.875 in at 6 inch, 7.875 in at 8 inch and 11.8125 in at 12 inch. Depth is 1.25 in on every size.

A rule laid flat across the face can read up to 0.40 in less than the overall width, because the widest points are not at the same height. Both readings are correct. Use overall width for a layout.

The driver is rated 1 A. A 12 inch digit draws about 230 mA and a 6 inch about 146 mA on one strip. Past these counts the digits flicker or cycle; nothing is damaged.

What these will not do
The constraints worth knowing before you buy, and the ones support answers most often.
- They need a 12V driver. They are not mains devices.
- A digit wired straight to house voltage is destroyed, and that is not covered by the warranty. Any 12V DC supply rated 1 A or more will run them, so an existing low-voltage line is fine. A 12V AC landscape transformer is not: it has to be DC.
- They mount flush, and we do not recommend standing them off the wall.
- A standoff exposes the low-voltage leads and lets light escape sideways, which is the glow you bought. The fixings in the box are for flush mounting.
- An overloaded driver makes the digits flicker or cycle.
- Nothing is damaged. It means the run is past the counts in the table above, and the fix is a second driver. The address builder on the home page counts drivers for you.
- The 6 and the 9 are one part.
- It is the same piece turned over, listed as 6/9. Order one for every 6 and every 9 in the address.
- Both colours in a 6 inch is brighter, not a third colour.
- Mixing 3000K and 6000K does not give a clean neutral white. Light one strip for the look and both only when you want the brightness, which halves how many the driver runs.
- 304 stainless tea-stains within about a mile of salt water.
- It is surface staining rather than structural rust, and it is not covered. Seal the seams at install and rinse the parts with fresh water a few times a year. The routine is on the install guide.
- They do not switch themselves on at dusk.
- Wire the driver through a photocell, a timer or a smart switch and the digits follow it.
- Colours and fonts are not custom under 30 digits.
- The catalogue is black Neutra and brushed stainless Arial. Custom work starts at 30 digits: email info@jelsco.com.
- Digits sold in different years will not match exactly.
- The 6 inch is a newer production run with a different black, and sizes are different heights anyway. Add to an existing address in the size and finish you already have.
